Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk B
€ 199
Delivery time around 13 days
Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk B is a dirty booster effects pedal specifically made for the bass guitar with a unique circuit. It is not a clone of any other pedal and was designed to accommodate tunings down to a typical low B and can be used for even lower tunings.
The Phat Phuk B is a JFET / germanium single circuit hybrid booster – a unique sounding pedal which adds a beautiful sheen to the top-end and a bit of grit to the overall tone. It’s a fantastic pedal for situations where you want a lift in your overall level, during a chorus or bridge for example, with a bit of bawdy bump via the germanium transistor.
One nice feature is also the more modern JFET transistor at the input which keeps the pedal impedance-friendly when it comes to active bass pickups. While many clean boost pedals offer almost too much output boost, which makes it difficult to dial in the perfect amount due to the wide control range, the Phat Phuk B comes with a reduced Volume sweep.
It is still capable to create a big amount of gain, but the trade-off is worth the extra control, which makes it easier to find the sweet spot for your equipment. Give the Phat Phuk B a try – its beauty is in its simplicity and most musicians will be surprised how often it’s on!
Wren and Cuff
Wren and Cuff is a boutique American brand focused entirely on crafting high-quality fuzz and distortion pedals that pay tribute to the legendary tones of the ’60s and ’70s. Their pedals are raw, expressive, and built with a keen ear for detail—perfect for players who want gritty tone with real character.
Popular models like the Tall Font Russian, Caprid, and Box of War are all inspired by classic Muff circuits, but upgraded for modern performance. These stompboxes deliver thick, creamy fuzz tones while still retaining playing dynamics and clarity—no mud, just focused sonic mayhem.
Vintage fuzz with a modern twist
What sets Wren and Cuff apart is their commitment to tone authenticity and top-tier components. Each pedal is hand-built in California, often using NOS parts, and tested to perfection. The result? True vintage tone, without the hassle of unreliable old gear.
