Wren and Cuff XTS Tall Font

Wren and Cuff XTS Series Tall Font is the ultra-compact version of the renowned Tall Font Russian, a fuzz that has been part of the Wren and Cuff lineup since the late 2000s. The circuit is based on a transitional Sovtek-era model and was recreated using actual measured component values rather than relying solely on a schematic. The result is a distinctive low-gain Muff-style fuzz with a raw, throaty growl, relatively modest output and a noticeably different character from many other classic Muff circuits.

The Tall Font sits somewhere between a traditional fuzz and an overdrive in terms of character. Its mid-scoop is less pronounced, allowing chords and individual notes to retain greater definition while providing a more controlled and articulate response. The circuit also works particularly well with bass, preserving a solid low end without becoming muddy or undefined. The XTS version retains these characteristics while packing the circuit into an exceptionally small enclosure that takes up very little pedalboard space.

Despite its micro-sized enclosure, the XTS Tall Font is built to the same quality standards as other Wren and Cuff pedals. It is hand-built in the USA, runs on 9V DC center-negative power, draws just 8 mA, and does not support battery operation. The pedal features fully mechanical true bypass.
