It combines an analog VCA circuit with digital control and offers no fewer than nine different “Species.” This gives you not only smooth sine-wave and choppy square-wave tremolo, but also lo-fi modulation, rhythmic patterns, pulsating effects, and experimental textures. With just three controls—Species, Speed, and Depth—operation remains surprisingly simple. The nine modes range from the classic Surfer Bee to the rhythmic Jatai Bee and Orchid Bee. With Sweller Bee, you use the footswitch for volume swells, while Morse Bee turns the footswitch into a temporary kill switch. This makes the Tuna Trem suitable for both traditional tremolo and much more adventurous rhythmic effects. And as you’d expect from Beetronics, the enclosure is anything but standard: the Tuna Trem is actually housed in a tuna can. A unique, California-made effects pedal that combines organic analog tremolo with creative digital control—and is guaranteed to stand out on any pedalboard.
