You can easily select between signal path A, B, or A+B, making the pedal ideal for tasks such as switching between two effects chains. The ABY operates in both directions, offering exceptional versatility. The audio signal itself passes through a completely passive circuit, ensuring that your original tone remains unaffected. For switching, however, KMA uses an active relay-based soft switching system. This reduces mechanical switching noise and helps minimize unwanted pops and clicks. Three clearly distinguishable LED colors provide an immediate indication of the active signal path: red for A, yellow for B and blue for A+B. The KMA ABY features true bypass and top-mounted connections and is housed in a compact, rugged enclosure. The pedal is made in Berlin and runs on a standard 9V DC center-negative power supply. The power supply is only required for the active switching system and LED indicators, while the audio signal path itself remains passive.
