While the signature aggressive ‘chainsaw’ distortion takes center stage, KMA has significantly expanded the concept, allowing the Wurm 2 to deliver far more than just classic Swedish death metal tones. From massive walls of gain and sustain to raw distortion for shoegaze and prog rock, the TERROR control lets you determine exactly how much distortion to add to your sound. A key feature of the WURM 2 is its extensive active 4-band EQ. In addition to the characteristic EQ structure of the original HM-2 concept, KMA has added two extra frequency bands. The EQ STYLE switch on the front lets you choose between HM-II, KMA and BOTH. HM-II delivers the classic cutting high-mid chainsaw sound, KMA provides a more balanced and broader response, while BOTH combines the two EQ structures for an even thicker and more aggressive tone. Each EQ band also has an internal trimpot that allows you to further adjust its center frequency. Compared to the original WURM, KMA has also improved the size and practical usability of the pedal. The WURM 2 comes in a smaller enclosure with top-mounted jacks and features silent relay-based switching. An internally switchable input filter also helps tame extreme high frequencies at particularly aggressive settings.
