Although the enclosure is smaller and features practical top-mounted jacks, the internal circuit is identical to that of the larger Warm Audio Centavo. This gives the Centavo Mod the familiar combination of clean boost, transparent overdrive and natural clipping, with plenty of headroom for pushing both clean and already overdriven amplifiers. The controls remain classic and straightforward with Gain, Treble and Output, while Warm Audio has added a useful MOD switch on the rear. Engaging it extends the low-end response, giving the lower strings a fuller and more powerful character. Inside, the Centavo Mod uses carefully selected components including TL072 op-amps, vintage-style diodes, carbon and metal-film resistors, and a charge-pump voltage regulator. Just like the original design, the pedal features buffered bypass. Thanks to its compact golden enclosure, the Centavo Mod is ideal for pedalboards where space is at a premium, without sacrificing the character of the original circuit. Use it as a subtle clean boost, a classic overdrive, or to push an already driven amp for extra definition, sustain and gain. The pedal can be powered by a 9V battery or standard 9V DC power supply and draws just 40 mA. A practical, compact take on one of the most influential overdrive circuits ever created.
