Warm Audio WA-C1 Mod

Warm Audio WA-C1 Mod brings the character of one of the most celebrated analog chorus and vibrato pedals in history to a much more compact format.

Its fully analog circuit delivers the deep, warm and spacious modulation you would expect from a classic BBD chorus. Warm Audio uses a modern recreation of the MN3007 Bucket Brigade Device, combined with premium components and a fully analog preamp. The pedal features a single input and two outputs, allowing you to create wide stereo chorus sounds.

Compared to the vintage design, the WA-C1 Mod offers considerably more control. The chorus section features separate Depth and Rate controls, while the original design relied mainly on an Intensity control. The vibrato section also has its own Depth and Rate controls, taking you from subtle movement to pronounced, almost rotary-style modulation.

You can also choose between Vintage mode, which keeps the characteristic analog preamp in the signal path, and Modern mode, which bypasses the preamp. This makes the pedal much easier to integrate into modern pedalboards where precise gain staging is important.

An additional Hi-Z switch lets you choose between the vintage 50 kΩ input impedance and a 1.1 MΩ setting, with the latter particularly well suited to passive guitars and helping to preserve clarity. Thanks to its top-mounted connections and compact enclosure, the WA-C1 Mod also takes up considerably less pedalboard space than its vintage inspiration.

The pedal runs on 9V DC, draws 200 mA, and uses an internal dual DC-DC converter to provide the analog circuit with the correct operating voltage. The result is an authentic analog chorus and vibrato pedal with a number of genuinely useful modern improvements.
